Privacy & Security First

A Secure, Private Email Client You Can Trust

Amailia is built on privacy from the ground up. Connect Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Rogers, Bell, Shaw, and any IMAP provider — all protected with AES-256 encryption, OAuth security, and a strict no-data-selling policy. Your email is yours alone.

Read our privacy policy — we're transparent about everything.

Why Privacy Matters in Email

Email is intimate. Your messages contain personal information, financial details, health conversations, and more. Your email client needs to be secure and trustworthy.

Many email apps sell user data to advertisers, analyze your messages for marketing purposes, or have loose security practices. Amailia does none of that. We built our email client with privacy as the foundation.

Amailia's Security Architecture

OAuth 2.0 Authentication
For Gmail and Outlook, we use their official OAuth authentication. You log in directly through Google or Microsoft — we never see your password. You grant permission, and can revoke it anytime from your account settings. For Yahoo, iCloud, Rogers, Bell, Shaw, and other IMAP providers, credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage.
AES-256-GCM Encryption
Any credentials we store (for IMAP providers) are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the same encryption standard used by governments and militaries. This is the strongest commercially available encryption.
HTTPS Everywhere
All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS with TLS 1.3. No one can intercept your data in transit.
No Password Storage
For OAuth providers like Gmail and Outlook, we don't store passwords at all. For IMAP providers, we encrypt credentials and never transmit them unencrypted.
No Data Selling
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your email stays between you and us. We don't analyze your messages for advertising purposes.
No Tracking
We don't track your email usage for marketing. We don't build advertising profiles. We don't share data with third-party trackers.

How Amailia Protects Your Privacy

  • Minimal Data Collection: We only collect what's necessary to provide the email service — your account info and email content.
  • Data Retention: Your email data is stored only as long as your account is active. Delete your account and we delete your data.
  • No Third-Party Access: We don't provide your data to advertising networks, data brokers, or other third parties.
  • GDPR Compliance: We comply with GDPR, PIPEDA, and other privacy regulations. You have the right to access, export, or delete your data.
  • Transparent Policies: Our privacy policy is written in plain English, not legal jargon. Read what we do with your data.

Email Security Best Practices

While Amailia provides a secure client, email security also depends on your own practices:

  • Strong Passwords: Use unique, strong passwords for each account. Consider a password manager.
  • Two-Factor Authentication: Enable 2FA on Gmail, Outlook, and other accounts for extra security.
  • Be Cautious with Links: Don't click suspicious links in emails. Verify sender addresses before trusting them.
  • Watch for Phishing: Be wary of emails asking for passwords or sensitive info. Real companies never ask for this via email.
  • Use Amailia: Keep your email in a secure client rather than checking multiple webmail accounts in a browser.

What Makes Amailia Different from Other Email Clients

Some email apps claim privacy but still monetize user data. Others use weak encryption. Here's what sets Amailia apart:

  • No Ads: Amailia doesn't show ads. We're funded through subscriptions, not advertising.
  • No Free-to-Paid User Exploitation: Our free plan is genuinely free. We're not trying to mine data from free users.
  • Auditable Security: We're transparent about our security architecture and practices.
  • Privacy-First Design: Every feature is designed with privacy in mind, not profit maximization.
  • Honest Business Model: You pay for premium features; we don't sell your data. Simple.

Security & Privacy FAQ

Questions about how Amailia keeps your email secure.

Is Amailia as secure as Gmail or Outlook?

Do you have access to my email content?
We can technically access email while displaying it to you in the app, but we don't read, analyze, or use your emails for any purpose. No employee reads your email. No algorithm analyzes it for ads.
Can I trust Amailia with sensitive information?
Yes. Amailia is designed for secure email handling. We use military-grade encryption, OAuth security, and have no financial incentive to misuse your data. Read our privacy policy for full details.
What happens to my data if Amailia is acquired?
Our privacy policy is binding even if the company changes ownership. We can't unilaterally change our privacy practices without explicit user consent.
